I did and so my disability was a process...
A long time ago, I did a really dumb thing...
Because I was feeling old; was about to turn 35...
Thing is, I hadn't been on skates since I was 10!
Oh the things we let our friends talk us into!!
It was Christian skate night and the music was faith-based.
My friends and I were part of a healed marriage group and we'd meet weekly for fellowship and prayer because....
The pariahs, the outcasts because everyone in our own church groups were married couples and we no longer fit in.
On the up side though, that's where I met Bill and we're into our 34th year of happily ever after.
He's the one that took my skates off at the roller skating party, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
I did ok on the skates, then, as I was getting off the rink, I was blind sided by a little kid....
I heard this panicked kid voice saying, oh no oh no oh no....
I was on the floor, on my butt with a broken arm.
That's when Bill took my skates off and put my shoes on me.
He also took my then 7-year old daughter to my moms, who was watching my one-year-old daughter. (More on that story another time).
That was the beginning of my disability because I not only broke my arm, but also shifted a disk in my back that was never corrected so when I was in the car accident years later, it not only caused new injuries but made the old injuries worse.
I couldn't work outside the home anymore and I struggled with issues I'd never encountered before...
So now I help people who were forced to retire early because they became disabled to regain their power through self care and earning income from home in my fun community of friends where I share helpful ideas.
If you know anyone who may be interested in my community, here's where you can find us: click here.
Today is a Zoey day, she's the two and a half year old.
Yup, I'm a grandma,
